A LABOUR TD yesterday signed a formal garda complaint against Darren Scully, who resigned as Mayor of Naas last week following controversy over comments he made about “black Africans”.
Aodhán Ó Ríordáin originally complained to gardaí last week after Mr Scully told Kildare FM he would no longer represent “black Africans” having experienced “aggressiveness and bad manners” from some constituents.
Mr Ó Ríordáin said last night that he had decided to pursue a formal complaint despite a number of tweets, emails, texts and phone calls received by him in the past week, “80 per cent” of which were negative.
