Teagasc, the agriculture and food development authority, said yesterday: "All farms must remain closed off to outsiders and effective disinfectant procedures should be followed." Mr Tom Kirley, Teagasc's head of advisory services, said all Teagasc training courses and local centres "will continue to be suspended". All Teagasc national and local events remain cancelled - and visits to farms by advisory staff continue to be suspended.
Farmers may avail of advice by appointment at local Teagasc offices. Special helplines are open every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mr Kirley said.
