The circumstances of the death of teenager Raonaid Murray, who in 1999 was stabbed to death just yards from her home, are still being investigated, an inquest has heard.
The body of Raonaid (17) was discovered at Silchester Crescent, Glenageary. The last definite sighting of the teenager was leaving Scott’s pub in Dún Laoghaire at 11.20pm on September 3rd.
Det Insp Eamon O’Reilly of Dún Laoghaire Garda station told a hearing of the inquest into her death at Dublin County Coroner’s Court that the circumstances of her “tragic death” were still a matter of investigation at his Garda station.
He applied for an adjournment of the inquest under section 25.1 of the Coroner’s Act 1962, which coroner Dr Kieran Geraghty granted. He adjourned the inquest to June 2011.
