Police in northern Ireland tonight named the two teenagers killed when a car crashed off a motorway on the outskirts of Belfast.
They were Lynne-Anne Halliday (18) and 17-year-old Jonathan Connolly, both from Carrickfergus, Co Antrim.
Four other people in the same vehicle, a people carrier, were injured. A 20-year-old woman is described as in a serious condition, a girl of 17 has head and chest injuries while two other women suffered cuts and bruises.
It is understood the vehicle was heading to the airport where one of the occupants was going to catch a plane.
The Hyundai people carrier veered off the M5, careered through a fence and ended up on its side on the shore of Belfast Lough.
Police said road conditions were good at the time and they did not know why the vehicle crashed. An examination of the scene was being carried out.
The accident happened 45 minutes into the fire strike and two Yellow Goddesses manned by the Army, together with a rescue team with breathing apparatus, attended the accident.
The crash lifted the death toll on Northern Ireland's roads to 13 so far this year - eight in the last six days.
