Ten people were fined between £250 and £2,100 each yesterday for failing to make income tax returns to the Revenue Commissioners. They were convicted by Judge Michael O'Leary at Dublin District Court.

They were: accountant Thomas Delaney, Iona Road, Drumcondra (£1,000 for failing to make returns over four years); haulier Thomas J. Walsh, Forrest Drive, Ballymount (£500 for two years); printer Brendan Henderson, Cabinteely Close, Dublin (£1,500 for six years).

Newspaper courier John Slaughter, Monksfield Heights, Clondalkin (£1,250 for five years); surveyor Raymond O'Flynn, Lakelands Close, Kilmacud (£2,100 for six years); mechanic Eamonn Brazil, Commons Lower, Celbridge, Co Kildare (£1,750 for five years).

Contract drainage operator Brian Elliot, The Dingle, Palmerstown (£2,100 for six years); architect Daniel Gray, The Glade, Woodpark, Ballinteer (£1,400 for four years); tree surgeon John Lyne, Oakcourt Grove, Palmerstown (£250 for one year); and farmer Terence Murphy, Knockmaroon Estate, Castleknock (£500 for two years).
