Ten men have been arrested as part of a Garda operation targeting organised crime in the southeast of the country.

Ten men have been arrested as part of a Garda operation targeting organised crime in the southeast of the country.

The men, who are aged between 18 and 45 years, were taken into custody following a series of searches in Tipperary, Cork, Dublin and Waterford this morning.

A Garda spokesman said hand-made weapons, satellite navigation equipment and documents were seized during the searches as well as small quantities of cannabis and cocaine.

He said all 10 men were being detained under Section 50 Criminal Justice Act 2007 at various Garda Stations in the southeast.
