The following is the full text of a statement issued by Fitzwilton plc following statements made in the Dail on Thursday, 28 May, 1998
Fitzwilton plc categorically denies that any meeting of the kind described in the anonymous note ever took place. One meeting did take place in Mr Ray Burke's constituency office in his home in June 1989. This meeting was attended by Mr Paul Power and Mr Robin Rennicks. The purpose of the meeting was to give Mr Burke a cheque for £30,000 on behalf of Fitzwilton for the Fianna Fail election fund.
At no time during the meeting was the subject of IDA grants discussed. No favours were either sought or received for the political contribution.
As already stated, Fitzwilton does not have, and never had, any trading or business connections with Princes Holdings, nor has it made any payments to any individual or organisation in connection with MMDS licences.
