DART customers can now receive train times directly to their mobile phones after a new system was launched today.
DART users can now text the word DART followed by the station name (e.g. DART PEARSE) to the number - 53700 - and the system, called DARTXT, will reply with the times of the next DART trains travelling in both directions.
The system links directly into the DART signalling system which means that any changes to the service will be reflected in the system, providing customers with up-to-date, accurate information.
The system was developed in partnership with mobile communications provider O 2Ireland and was unveiled by the Minister for Transport, Mr Brennan.
The service will cost customers 30c for each text, however, and operator charges may vary. The service is available from mobile phones on all networks.
