A They face a fine of up to €1,000 for a first offence and €2,000 for a second. The driver can also be disqualified by the court.
QIs it an offence for a learner driver not to display L-plates?
AYes. The penalties are the same as for driving unaccompanied and a driver can be charged separately for both offences. From December 1st a learner motorcyclist must wear the letter L on a yellow fluorescent tabard.
