DUBLIN release dates for Roddy Doyle's new movie The Van have finally been announced. The film, which stars Colm Meaney of Star Trek fame and Irish actor Donal O'Kelly, will receive its Irish premiere in Dublin on November 20th. It will go on general release on the 29th. As is usual with Roddy's films there won't head high price charity premier, just a low key screening for friends and cast with half the tickets on sale to the public.
The film has still not been seen in the US - the distributors are waiting for the Michael Collins hullabaloo to die down before releasing it sometime towards the end of the year. "It's the Dublin screening that really matters to me though," says Roddy.
