Joint-winners of Irish Person of the Year Award:Kenny Egan, Darren Sutherland and Paddy Barnes - for their character, determination and hard work which resulted in the boxers winning a silver and two bronze medals at the Olympics.

Fr Shay Cullen:International Person of the Year Award - for his work over 40 years to protect vulnerable children and campaign against the sex industry in the Philippines.

Nuala O'Loan:A People of the Year Award winner. The former Northern Ireland police ombudsmanwas awarded for her integrity and courage, and her commitment to high standards of policing.

Robert McLoughlin:Won a People of the Year Award. From Marino in Dublin, he was recognised for 56 years of dedication to Jomac Productions, a voluntary group of entertainers that visits hospitals, senior citizen centres and homeless shelters.

Scouting Ireland:Won an awardin recognition of 100 years of activity in Ireland.

Ronan Hayes and Orla Tinsley:Joint winners of Young Person of the Year Award. Ronan (7) from Castlemartyr in Cork was honoured for helping to save the life of his sister Emily, then aged four. Orla was honoured for campaigning for better services for people with cystic fibrosis.

Teacher of the Year Award:Rose uí Shúilleabháin - Ms Uí Shúilleabháin, of Maria Immaculata College, Dunmanway, Co Cork, was praised for her presence of mind in administering CPR to one of her pupils when he collapsed due to cardiac arrest.

Joe Dolan:Posthumous award for his contribution to the development of Ireland's music scene from the 1960s.
