Three men appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court yesterday, charged with breaking section nine of the UK Merchant Shipping Act.
The charges against Mr John Nabb (40), The Hill, Clogherhead, Co Louth; Mr Kieran Caffrey (36), of Brookville, Drogheda, Co Louth, and Mr Leslie Blair (70), of Sarkfoot Road, Gretna, Scotland, have been brought by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
This follows the emergency docking of the Belize-registered cargo vessel Royal One at Lisahally port on the outskirts of Derry on March 4th. If convicted, they face fines of up to £50,000.
The three were remanded on continuing bail until May 10th.
