Cork is set for a 215 jobs boost over the next few years after three companies announced further investment in the region.
The multinational firms Alcon, Siemens Business Services and Cascade Designs all have existing operations in the area.
Announcing the new jobs, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Micheál Martin described the investment as "a further endorsement of Cork's enviable reputation as a location for international companies".
Alcon, a global ophthalmic pharmaceutical and surgical devices manufacturer with 82 employees in Cork, plans to invest up to €15.6 million to increase its manufacturing facility, adding 140 new jobs in the next five years.
Siemens Business Systems plans a system management centre at its facility in Cork City, bringing 30 new jobs over the next four years.
Cascade, which makes recreational and medical products for outdoor pursuit and hill-walking markets, will create 45 jobs by expanding its European headquarters and manufacturing activities in Midleton, Co Cork.
The jobs will be spread throughout management, manufacturing, accounting and administration.
