A Swiss army helicopter crashed today near the northwestern town of Delemont, killing three people on board, local police said.
The helicopter carrying three border guards and the pilot crashed near a farm in the Jura region near the border with France after hitting a telephone wire, a police spokesman said.
The crash occurred at 10:42 (GMT). Police said the helicopter did not catch fire and did not crash near any homes.
The pilot and two of the guards on board the Alouette III were apparently killed immediately, while another border guard was seriously injured and taken to hospital in the Swiss city of Basel, he added.
