The saga of property company Dunloe Ewart moved a step closer to conclusion today with the news that three non-executive directors have stepped down from the company.

Dunloe said this morning that non-executive directors Ms Anne-Marie Smyth - wife of former executive chairman Mr Noel Smyth - Mr Stewart Harrington and Mr Brian O'Connor have resigned with immediate effect.

Mr Liam Carroll gained control of Dunloe in November after a bitter battle with Mr Smyth.

Mr Carroll's offer of 50 cents per Dunloe share could be be formally cleared by the takeover panel by the end of the week.
