Three people have been arrested following the robbery of a post office in Bray, Co Wicklow this morning.
Two men wearing motorcycle helmets threatened staff and customers at the Quinnsboro Road post office shortly after 10am. Gardai believe one of the men may have been armed with a hand gun.
No shots were fired and no-one was hurt in the incident in which the raiders made off on motorcycle with a substantial amount cash.
A Garda spokesman said: "As a result of the ensuing investigation Bray gardaí stopped a car outside Wicklow town and arrested 2 men and a woman.
"All the cash and the motorcycle used in the robbery were recovered."
The three are being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act at Bray Garda Station where they can be held for 24 hours without charge.
