Three people have been arrested following a shooting incident in Co Tyrone in the early hours of this morning in which a 28-year-old man sustained gunshot wounds to his chest.
Two men, aged 20 and 21, and a 19-year-old woman were detained this afternoon and are currently helping the police with their inquiries.
The PSNI said the man was shot in the Lineside area of Coalisland shortly before 3am today.
A spokeswoman for Craigavon Area Hospital, Co Armagh, said the victim was ill but stable in intensive care. He is not in a critical condition.
A PSNI spokeswoman said the man is believed to be Lithuanian. A motive for the attack has yet to be established.
Police have appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time or with information about the incident to contact them.
