A man who was shot and injured three weeks ago was arrested by gardaí in Dublin last night.
The man, understood to be a senior crime figure, was one of three men in their 30s arrested by gardaí after they seized a handgun and ammunition during the search of two cars on the Swords Road near the airport yesterday afternoon.
The man was seriously injured in a shooting on January 25th when lone gunman had approached the car he was a front passenger in as it pulled out of a driveway in Hartstown, Dublin and shot him a number of times.
The man was treated for his injuries at James Connolly Memorial hospital Blanchardstown but ran from hospital after he sprayed gardaí that were protecting his room with mace.
Gardaí were holding the man with two other men in their 30s at Ballymun and Santry Garda stations under section 30 of the Offences against the State Act.
