The haul follows the discovery in February of cannabis resin with an estimated street value of €20 million at warehouse in Swords. The two finds are among the largest of their kind in the State.

The Drugs Unit at Henry Street, Limerick, seized one kilo of cocaine and seven kilos of cannabis with an estimated street value of €120,000 following the search of a vehicle in the Moyross area.

A 31-year-old man from Moyross was arrested on Friday night, and detained at Henry Street Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.

He was released at 6 p.m. on Saturday, and a file is being prepared for the DPP.

It was the second time that cocaine had been seized in Limerick over the past three weeks.

Two men, both in their early 20s, were detained at Bray Garda Station.

One was later released and a file is being prepared on him for the DPP. The second is due to appear before Bray Court on May 2nd on a charge relating to the find.

In Co Donegal, gardaí from the local Drugs Unit seized ecstasy with an estimated street value of about €12,000 after the search of a house in the Letterkenny area.
