Three men are being questioned by gardaí in connection with a fatal shooting which took place at early yesterday in Fortlawn Park in Blanchardstown.
The dead man has been named as Christopher Emmet, a 21-year-old father of two from Blanchardstown, west Dublin. A legally held shotgun was discharged in the living room of the terraced house, fatally wounding Mr Emmet in the neck.
Gardaí arrested two men, aged 18 and 23, shortly after the shooting at a house near Mr Emmet’s family home.
Both arrested men were among A group drinking in the house when Mr Emmet was shot. Both men are being questioned under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Finglas Garda station. They can be held for 72 hours.
A third man (24) was arrested just before lunchtime yesterday and is being held under Section 30 at Cabra Garda station.
Gardaí believe that while Mr Emmet was with at least three people when shot, it is possible there were more people present, and they have urged anybody with information to contact them.
Anybody with information is asked to contact Blanchardstown Garda station on (01) 666 7080.
