Three people, including an 18 year-old woman were killed in separate road accidents overnight.
A 61-year-old man died after the car he was driving crashed into a wall on the South Douglas Road in Cork city at 3.45am this morning. He was brought to the South Infirmary Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. He was the only occupant of the car.
In Co Roscommon, a man was killed when the car in which he was travelling struck a tree at around 3.30am at Elphin. The male driver of the car, and another male passenger were taken to Sligo General Hospital for treatment. The victim was a rear seat passenger in the car.
An 18 year-old old female passenger died in Killarney as a result of a single vehicle accident on the Ross Road at 3.50am. The car she was travelling in hit a tree. The male driver has been taken to hospital.
