The three men were arrested after cigarettes with an estimated value of over €900,000 were seized when gardaí raided a shed on an isolated farm near Inniskeen, Co Monaghan in July 2003.
The cigarettes had been hidden inside computers and were being repacked for shipment around Ireland.

The third man, John O'Hanlon (33) originally of Kilcurry, Dundalk, but now living in Dromintee, Co Armagh, was described by Judge Con Murphy as "just a drone" in the operation. He was given a six-month sentence, also suspended for four years, and was ordered to pay €5,000 to the same charity.
