Three men remained in Garda custody last night in connection with a fatal shooting in the early hours of Tuesday morning in Blanchardstown, west Dublin.
Christopher Emmet, a 21-year-old father of two from Blanchardstown, was fatally wounded when a legally held shotgun was discharged in the living room of his family home in Fortlawn Park.
Gardaí arrested two men, aged 18 and 23, shortly after the shooting, both of whom were among a group drinking in the house when Mr Emmet was shot. A third man aged 24 was arrested just before lunchtime on Tuesday. The three can be held for 72 hours.
Gardaí believe that while Mr Emmet was with at least three people when shot, it is possible there were more present, and they have urged anybody with information to contact them at Blanchardstown Garda station on (01) 666 7080.
