Two men were killed in separate road accidents on Tuesday night and a third motorist died in an accident yesterday morning.
Ciarán Mallon, from Killyfaddy Road, Armagh, died when a passing vehicle struck him as he was getting out of the cab of his articulated lorry in Bracetown, Clonee, Co Meath, at about 9.30pm on Tuesday.
Gardaí believe that a white Volvo lorry may have struck the 30-year-old man as it was travelling towards Navan. They want anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them on 01-8252211.
A 77-year-old man died from injuries sustained in a head-on collision at Scart Baun, Bantry, Co Cork, on Tuesday night. The man was removed to Bantry General Hospital, but died a short time later.
A third motorist died yesterday morning when his car was in collision with a lorry near Leamybrien, Co Waterford.
Meanwhile, a 16-year-old girl who was involved in an accident last Sunday in New Ross, Co Wexford, has died.
Hazel Walsh, from Campile, Co Wexford, was a passenger in a car which crashed into a concrete post and overturned. She was treated for her injuries in Ardkeen Hospital, Waterford, but died on Tuesday night.
The driver of the car is believed to be recovering in Wexford General Hospital.
