The conviction of British army spy Brian Nelson 10 years ago led to this week's arrest of three men accused of possessing leaked security forces documents, the High Court in Belfast was told yesterday. Before the court were Mr Edward Stinton (40), of Glenmore Court, Hilden, Lisburn, Mr Colin Stephen Lindsay (33) of Castlerobin Lodge, Belvoir, Belfast, and Mr Francis James Caldwell, of Kinbane Way, Belfast.

They applied for bail on charges of possessing documents useful to terrorists. The documents allegedly included details of suspected IRA and INLA members in the Newry-Dundalk area in the late 1980s. The documents were seized in 1990 by the original Stevens Enquiry team investigating collusion between the security forces and loyalist paramilitaries. The three were freed on personal bail of £500 with sureties of £500.
