Three Israelis appeared before Tuam District Court yesterday charged with breaching immigration laws and could face deportation. All three are living in a rural area, a few miles outside the town at Drumbulcaun, Cortoon, Tuam.
Shahar Assi Aroas (25) is charged with failing to appear before an immigration officer contrary to Section 4 (2) of the Immigration Act 2004. Noam Meshulam (26) is charged with the same offence.Guy Yosef Abraham (25) is charged with remaining in the State after June 15th, the date set for his departure. Insp Aidan Foley applied to Judge Derek McVeigh for an adjournment in the cases.
The men, who were in court with an Israeli interpreter, have been granted legal aid. Olivia Traynor, solicitor acting for them, consented to the application. The judge remanded them on continuing bail to appear before Tuam District Court on December 7th next.
