Three people were being questioned by gardai in Limerick last night following a weekend raid for arms on three houses in St Mary's Park and a house in Moyross by 50 gardai.
They are being questioned in connection with an incident on Thursday evening when Mr Patrick McCarthy (38), a native of Limerick but living in England, was the victim of a shotgun blast into his car while he was driving in St Mary's Park. He received wounds in the back but was later discharged from hospital. One of his three children had a narrow escape when pellets penetrated the sleeve of his jacket.
