Gardaí are investigating two separate crashes yesterday in which three women died.
A woman in her 30s and a teenage girl were killed when the car they were travelling in crashed and then overturned in a field in Co Mayo. It is understood both women were Polish nationals.
The crash happened at Knockbrendan, on the Quay Road between Ballina and Enniscrone, shortly before noon. The male driver and two other passengers; one man and one woman, were taken to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar.

In Dungarvan a female pedestrian (64) was struck by a car on the Waterford to Dungarvan road at lunchtime.
The woman was brought to Waterford Regional Hospital where she died from her injuries.
