Toulouse won the European Cup for the second time after surviving a second-half Perpignan onslaught to run out 22-17 winners in the first all-French final at Lansdowne Road this afternoon.

Toulouse, who won the inaugural final in 1996, scored all but three of their points in the first half and then held on to join Leicester as the only multiple winners of European rugby's most prestigious trophy.

Vincent Clerc scored the only try of the first half just after the half hour, going over after some excellent work from centre Yannick Jauzion left the France winger one-on-one with his marker.

Flyhalf Yann Delaigue kicked five penalties and converted Clerc's try for Toulouse, while Australian Manny Edmonds kicked four penalties for Perpignan and their winger Pascal Bomati scored a try in injury time.
