The ATWGU train drivers' branch committee is expected to accept the peace formula put forward by the National Implementation Body when it meets this morning.
The union's Irish secretary, Mr Mick O'Reilly, has already urged acceptance of the formula and a result is expected by lunchtime.
If the drivers accept the formula the three strikes threatened for next week will be called off. However, complex and difficult negotiations lie ahead before the issue of who represents the 110 drivers is resolved.
