Italy coach Giovanni Trapattoni says he wants to remain in the Italian Football Federation's set-up after this year's European Championship in Portugal.
The 64-year-old's contract to coach the national team expires at the end of the tournament. He has hinted in the past that he is not certain to stay in the job.
Trapattoni also dismissed media reports of a move to Tottenham Hotspur, who have been searching for a permanent manager since Glenn Hoddle was sacked in September.
Earlier this week, the Rome-based newspaper Il Messaggeroreported that the coach had secretly agreed to come to London after Euro 2004.
"Every year, around about this time, the whispering starts, but on my part, there isn't a shadow of a doubt; I'd like to remain with the Italian Football Federation (FIGC)," he said today.
