London - A teenager accused of killing a young schoolboy - hacked with a machete in a gang attack - kept books relating to martial arts and computer fighting game characters in his bedroom, an Old Bailey court heard yesterday.
It was alleged that Carl Rickard (14), known as CJ, was attacked with the 17-in weapon and left with blood pouring from his head outside Kidbrooke school in south London last January. He died two weeks later from extensive brain damage. A 16-year-old boy has admitted manslaughter, but denies murder.
