BRITAIN:A jury of 10 men and two women was selected yesterday to hear the trial of a forklift truck driver accused of murdering five prostitutes. Steve Wright (49) denies killing Gemma Adams, Tania Nicol, Anneli Alderton, Paula Clennell and Annette Nicholls, whose bodies were found at rural locations near Ipswich in 2006.
The bodies of the five women were discovered in the space of just 11 days. Detectives launched the investigation on December 2nd, 2006, when the body of Adams (25) was found in a stream. The body of 19-year-old Nicol, last seen at the end of October and the first to be reported missing, was discovered in the same stream six days later. The bodies of the others - Alderton, a 24-year-old who was three months pregnant, Clennell, also 24, and 29-year-old Nicholls were found over the next four days. - (Reuters)
