This Sunday the Paul O'Kane gallery will host a Christmas party with a slightly more sombre, if still celebratory, note. The party is to welcome in the 86th issue of Circa, the art magazine which features a section of photographic works by the late Harry Thuillier jnr, who died a year ago aged 33. The photos, most of which were taken in Thailand on one of Harry's working trips abroad, are accompanied by a lovely poem by friend and poet Gabriel Rosenstock, who also composed the accompanying haikus to Harry's final exhibition in the Duke Gallery last year.
Gabriel will be reading from his work at the party while artist and NCAD director Noel Sheridan will perform a piece he composed for the magazine. Harry's mother, Frankie Thuillier, will be the guest of honour, while other friends present will include Philip Darling of Angel Design, who lent one of his Thuillier prints for the piece, and Gemma Tipton of Circa.
