London - Tributes were being paid yesterday to the West End director and choreographer Christopher Wren, who has died at the age of 52.

Mr Wren, who during a long career worked with Rowan Atkinson, David Suchet, John Thaw and Sir John Mills, died on Saturday at Eastbourne Hospital, East Sussex, follo wing a brain tumour. Also an actor, he made his stage debut at the age of eight in a production of Annie Get Your Gun at the Palace Theatre, Leicester.

In the 1980s and 1990s he worked in television on programmes such as the Jim Davidson Show, the Miss Marple series, Inspector Morse and Poirot.
