TRIBUTES HAVE been paid at Cork County Council to former Fianna Fáil TD and councillor Carey Joyce, who died at the weekend at the age of 88.
A native of Fermoy in north Cork, Mr Joyce was a member of Cork County Council from 1974 to 1999.
He was elected to Dáil Éireann for Cork East in 1981.
However, Mr Joyce served in the Dáil for less than a year, losing his seat in the February 1982 general election to his running mate, Michael Ahern.

He was a farmer and agricultural contractor.
Mr Joyce, who died on Sunday, is survived by his wife, Margaret, their son Denis and daughter Mary.
He will be buried following Requiem Mass in Fermoy today at 11.30am.
