The Teachers' Union of Ireland is calling for new legislation to deal with bullying in the workplace. Its president, Mr Joe Carolan, said yesterday that in the meantime the union would be putting in place its own code of conduct.
The union is holding a conference in Dublin today on the causes and types of bullying that occur in the workplace. This follows a TUI survey earlier this year which showed more than one in five members had been bullied at some time in the previous 12 months.
