Athens - Greece yesterday welcomed the decision by Turkey to end an 11-month freeze in relations with the EU. However, this was followed with a cautionary note that Athens still wanted further "gestures" from Ankara before it would consider lifting its veto of EU financial aid earmarked for Turkey, the Greek Foreign Minister, Mr Theodoros Pangalos, said. The Turkish decision to resume dialogue with Brussels came after the European Commission recognised Turkey as one of 12 candidates for full membership.
