Turkish warplanes bombed areas in northern Iraq today for the second day in a row, an Iraqi Kurdish official said, but there were no casualties.
Jabbar Yawer, a spokesman for the Iraqi Kurdish security forces, said the air strikes in a mountainous area in northern Iraq started at 120pm and lasted for more than three hours, causing material damage.
"This area is deserted," he said.

The Turkish military said yesterday's offensive against separatist Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) guerrillas inside Turkey and across the border in northern Iraq would continue.
Yawer had said yesterday's air strikes did not result in any casualties as well.
Turkey says it has the right to use force to combat separatist rebels who shelter in the semi-autonomous Kurdish region of northern Iraq and mount attacks in which they have killed dozens of Turkish troops in recent months.
But the United States and the European Union fear a further escalation in tension could destabilise the region.
