Ankara - Turkey said yesterday two of its soldiers who served as NATO peacekeepers in Kosovo had been affected by exposure to depleted uranium (DU) munitions used there during the Balkans conflict. "We have two personnel who had been affected at a benign level," the Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman, Mr Huseyin Dirioz, said. German peacekeepers serving in Kosovo have shown no signs of exposure to debris from DU ammunition fired during the air war against Yugoslavia, an official study in Berlin said.
