TV3 agrees content deal with Granada

Television channel TV3 has reached a long term content agreement with Granada International, part of the UK's ITV.

Television channel TV3 has reached a long term content agreement with Granada International, part of the UK's ITV.

TV3, which is now owned by private equity company Doughty Hanson, said the deal guarantees that programmes such as Coronation Street, Emmerdaleand I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Herewould continue.

TV3 chief executive David McRedmond said: "We have been progressing discussions with Granada International for some time and are delighted now to have secured this programming for the future."

He said the deal would strengthen TV3's position as "Ireland's leading commercial broadcaster."
