Twelve people arrested yesterday as part of a Garda operation targeting organised crime in the southeast of the country, are still being held in custody.
Ten of the men, who are aged between 18 and 46 years, were taken into custody following a series of searches in Tipperary, Cork, Dublin and Waterford yesterday morning. A further two were arrested in Co Waterford last night.
A Garda spokesman said hand-made weapons, satellite navigation equipment and documents were seized during the searches as well as small quantities of cannabis and cocaine.
All 12 of the men are being held under Section 50 Criminal Justice Act 2007 at various Garda stations in the southeast.
