Two men were arrested after police foiled an attempted armed robbery at a fast food shop in north Belfast.
Officers in a passing patrol spotted the men acting suspiciously outside the premises on Broughan Street at about 10.15am.
The men, armed with knives and a rope, were confronted by police and a struggle ensued. One officer was threatened at knifepoint but no-one was injured.
Meanwhile,
a man was arrested after a raid on a house in Bangor where stg£30,000 worth of fake goods were recovered.
Officers from the Organised Crime Squad swooped on the home in the Whitehill Estate yesterday in a planned operation. Counterfeit DVDs, CDs and manufacturing equipment was seized and a large sum of cash was also recovered.
The man has been charged with trademark and copyright offences and is due to appear before Bangor Magistrates on September 13th.
