Two men have been arrested following an armed robbery at a Galway city jewelers.
Three raiders, armed with guns and a crowbar, entered the shop on William Gate Street at 1.15m this afternoon.
They made off with a quantity of jewelry after threatening staff.
Two men, aged 24 and 25, were arrested in Athenry at 5pm. They are being held at Mill Street Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
Gardaí have appealed for information about a vehicle believed to have been used in the robbery.
The blue or grey Volvo S80, with the registration number 02-D-72615, was last seen in the Cartymore area on the main Galway to Monivea Road at 1.45pm.
