A man in his 20s is due in court later this month over the theft of 450 kegs of beer from the Guinness Brewery in Dublin, it has emerged.
Last Wednesday, thieves drove a lorry into the St James's Gate, hitched up a trailer containing 180 kegs of Guinness, 180 kegs of Budweiser and 90 kegs of Carlsberg and drove off. The estimated value of the haul is €65,000.
Detectives from Kevin Street arrested two men yesterday following a search in Co Meath on Monday in which goods were recovered.
A Garda spokeswoman said: "One man has been released pending the preparation of a file for the DPP. A second man has been charged and bailed to appear at Kilmainham District Court on December 21st."
