Two men have appeared in court in Cork charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 24-year-old father of two in a row earlier this year.
John Brett (24) with an address at Leitrim Street, Cork and Jason Quinlan (29) from Loughmahon Drive, Mahon, Cork were both charged at Cork District Court with the murder of Brian McKee at Ballinure Avenue, Mahon on August 25 th.
Mr McKee died at Cork University Hospital of stab wounds several hours after being involved in a fracas with several others.
The court heard that the previous charges of assault causing harm to Mr McKee were being withdrawn against Mr Brett and Mr Quinlan had faced.
Both men were remanded in custoday. Mr Brett is due in court again next week, while Mr Quinlan is due back in court tomorrow.
