Two people have died following separate road crashes in Co Mayo and Co Dublin.
In Dublin, one man died and four others were injured when the car they were travelling in collided with a wall at the junction of the Old Lucan Road and Brookevale Estate shortly after 11am.
The injured men were taken to the James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown.
The Old Lucan Road has been closed for a technical examination and diversions are in place.
Gardaí have appealed for anyone who may have seen the light blue Citroen C3 car prior to the incident to contact them.
Last night a 26-year-old man died following a two-car collision in Co Mayo.
The man died when the car he was a passenger in collided with another car at Drumadoon, Balla, Castlebar, Co Mayo shortly after 10pm.
The drivers of both of the cars were taken to Mayo General Hospital and where they are being treated for minor injuries.
