A man and a woman have been returned for trial for the murders of two men whose bodies were recovered from the river Bandon in west Cork late last year.

Ciprian Grozavu (37) and Catherine O’Connor (35) are charged with the murders of John Forrester (42) and Jonathan Duke (27) in Bandon.

Both Mr Grozavu and Ms O’Connor are charged with the murder of Mr Forrester, an English man, at Bandon Bridge on November 12th. Mr Grozavu, a Romanian national, and Ms O’Connor from Kinsale are also charged with the murder of Mr Duke at Bandon Bridge on November 13th.

Garda Insp Jerry Lacey applied to have both returned to the next sittings of the Central Criminal Court, and Judge James McNulty granted the application, remanding both in custody.
