Two former human resources consultants who worked for the charity Concern met each other for the first time last week when they were ordained at a ceremony in Douglas in Cork city over the weekend.

Sarah Marry and Tony Murphy took their vows in the presence of Church of Ireland Bishop of Cork, Cloyne and Ross Dr Paul Colton, Church of Ireland and Roman Catholic clergy and parishioners from the Church of Saint Luke last Saturday morning.

Rev Sarah Marry, who is from Middlesex in the UK, is married to Declan, an artist, and is mother to Ella (8) and Sophie (7).

Rev Tony Murphy is from Clonmel, Co Tipperary. He lived in Carrigaline, Co Cork, for more than 16 years with his wife Mary. The couple have three grown-up daughters: Alice, Ruth and Sarah.

Rev Marry moved to Dublin 15 years ago following completion of a language degree at Bath University. She pursued a career in human resources, working most recently with Concern Worldwide.
