Two men have been arrested after cannabis worth half a million euro was seized in Donegal following a Garda and Customs service surveillance operation.
The 50kg of herbal cannabis was initially intercepted at Dublin airport where it arrived from Amsterdam as a consignment marked "computer parts".
The authorities, including the Garda National Drug Unit, followed the consignment to an address in Falcarragh, Co Donegal, where they seized the drugs yesterday.
The operation involved gardaí and Customs officials liaising with their counterparts in the PSNI and British revenue and customs. A number of searches were carried out on both sides of the Border.
Two men from Northern Ireland were arrested at the premises in Falcarragh and are being held at Letterkenny Garda station.
